About Claude Monet and The Water Lilies – The Clouds (1915)

Claude Monet (1840–1926) worked on the great Water Lilies decorations from about 1915 until his death in 1926, in a large studio he built at Giverny. He offered them to the French state as a monument to peace after the First World War, and they were installed in two oval rooms of the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris in 1927, where they are still displayed as he intended.
