About Giotto and The Peruzzi Altarpiece (1310)
Giotto (c. 1267–1337) and his assistants painted the Peruzzi Altarpiece around 1310–1315 in Florence. It takes its name from the Peruzzi, one of the city's great banking families, and has traditionally been linked with their chapel in the church of Santa Croce, which Giotto also decorated with frescoes. Painted in tempera and gold leaf on panel and measuring about 106 x 250 cm in its frame, it is in the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh.
