About Leonardo da Vinci and La Scapigliata (1506)
Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) painted this small panel, about 24.7 x 21 cm, in umber and white lead on walnut, probably around 1506–1508. It once belonged to the Parma painter Gaetano Callani, whose inventory listed it as an authentic Leonardo. It is held today in the Galleria Nazionale, part of the Pilotta monumental complex in Parma.
