Leonardo da Vinci Lady with an Ermine Poster 1489 Wall Art Painting
Lady with an Ermine Poster — a museum-quality reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's celebrated portrait of Cecilia Gallerani, the young woman of the Milanese court who turns towards an unseen light while cradling a white ermine in her arms.
Lady with an Ermine Poster by Leonardo da Vinci — Authentic Lady with an Ermine Art Print for Modern and Traditional Interiors
Painted around 1489, Lady with an Ermine is one of only four portraits of women that Leonardo ever painted, and it is often described as the first truly modern portrait. Instead of a stiff profile, the sitter twists gracefully, as if someone has just called her name. Leonardo used his knowledge of anatomy and light to make her seem to step out of the shadows. This Lady with an Ermine art print keeps the deep background, warm skin tones and the soft white fur of the ermine rich and sharp.

About Leonardo da Vinci and Lady with an Ermine (1489)
Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) painted this portrait at the court of Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, who commissioned it. The sitter is Cecilia Gallerani, and the ermine is read both as a symbol of purity and as a nod to the Duke himself, who was nicknamed the White Ermine. Painted in oil on a walnut panel, the work was bought in Italy around 1800 by Prince Adam Jerzy Czartoryski and shown at Puławy, where it was long mistaken for another famous portrait. Its original background, modelled with light like the figure, was overpainted in black in the 19th century. The portrait became the property of the Polish state in 2016 and today hangs in the National Museum in Kraków.
