About Michelangelo and Archers Shooting at a Herm (1530)

Michelangelo (1475–1564) made this highly finished drawing around 1530, probably as a gift, in the same refined style as his presentation drawings for Tommaso de' Cavalieri. The composition was later engraved by Nicolas Beatrizet. It is drawn in red chalk and measures about 22 x 32 cm. It belongs to the Royal Collection.
