About Paul Cézanne and Pot and Soup Tureen (1888)
Paul Cézanne (1839–1906) made this pencil drawing in 1888. Cézanne drew constantly in pencil, filling sketchbooks with studies of his family, bathers and landscapes, and copying sculpture in the Louvre and the museum in Aix — especially works by Pierre Puget and the old masters — to understand how forms turn in space. It is drawn in pencil and measures about 12.3 x 21.5 cm. It is held in the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo.
