About Paul Cézanne and Self-Portrait at the Easel (1898)
Paul Cézanne (1839–1906) made this lithograph in 1898. Cézanne made only a few prints. In the 1870s he tried etching at Auvers with his friend Dr Paul Gachet, and in the late 1890s the dealer Ambroise Vollard persuaded him to make lithographs, including his self-portrait and two large colour prints of bathers, printed by Auguste Clot.
