About Raphael and Christ in Glory (1519)
Raphael (1483–1520) made this drawing around 1519. Raphael was one of the finest draughtsmen of the Renaissance. He prepared his paintings through many drawings — quick pen sketches, careful chalk studies of figures from life and full-size cartoons — and his drawings were collected and admired even in his own lifetime. It is drawn in black chalk and measures about 22.5 x 17.9 cm. It is held in the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
