About Vincent van Gogh and Irises (1890)

Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) painted this still life in May 1890, just before leaving the asylum in Saint-Rémy, as part of a pair with another bouquet of irises against a pink background. Painted in oil on canvas and measuring about 92 x 73.5 cm, it is in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
