About Raphael and Man Carrying a Burden (1514)
Raphael (1483–1520) made this drawing around 1514. Raphael was one of the finest draughtsmen of the Renaissance. He prepared his paintings through many drawings — quick pen sketches, careful chalk studies of figures from life and full-size cartoons — and his drawings were collected and admired even in his own lifetime. It is drawn in red chalk and measures about 32.1 x 16.1 cm. It is held in the Musée du Louvre in Paris.
