About Vincent van Gogh and Head of a Prostitute (1885)
Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) made this painting in December 1885. In the winter of 1885–1886 Van Gogh lived in Antwerp, where he studied at the Academy, discovered the colour of Rubens and began collecting Japanese prints — and his palette started to brighten. It is held in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
