About Vincent van Gogh and Sunflowers (1889)
Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) painted this canvas in Arles in January 1889 as a repetition of an earlier sunflower still life from August 1888. It belongs to the famous series he made for the Yellow House, where he hoped to found a studio of the south with other artists. Painted in oil on canvas, it is in the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
