About Vincent van Gogh and The Langlois Bridge (1888)
Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) made this painting in March 1888. In February 1888 Van Gogh moved to Arles in the south of France, looking for the light and colour he associated with Japan. In just over a year he painted orchards, harvests, sunflowers, portraits and night scenes there, and in the autumn of 1888 he shared the Yellow House with Paul Gauguin. It is held in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
