About Vincent van Gogh and Wheat Field (1888)
Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) made this drawing in 1888. In February 1888 Van Gogh moved to Arles in the south of France, looking for the light and colour he associated with Japan. In just over a year he painted orchards, harvests, sunflowers, portraits and night scenes there, and in the autumn of 1888 he shared the Yellow House with Paul Gauguin. It is executed in reed pen and ink and measures about 24.1 x 31.7 cm.
